Privacy Policy

Information you provide. Name, email address, shipping and billing address, phone number (if given), order history, taste preferences, account credentials, gift recipient information, and any messages you send us.

Payment information. Payment is processed by Shopify Payments and other third-party processors. We do not store full payment-card numbers on our systems; we receive only a token and the last four digits for order display.

Information collected automatically. IP address, device and browser type, operating system, referring URL, pages visited, time spent, and similar usage data via cookies and similar technologies. See our Cookie Policy for the full list.

Information from third parties. If you sign in via a third party (such as Apple, Google, or Shop Pay) we receive basic profile information from that provider. We may also receive analytics from advertising and email-marketing partners.

• Process and fulfil your orders, including roasting, shipping, returns, and customer service.
• Manage your account, subscriptions, payment methods, and communications.
• Send transactional emails (order confirmations, shipping updates, subscription notices).
• Send marketing emails and SMS, only with your opt-in consent. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• Personalise the Site (recommendations, recently viewed, taste profile).
• Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and other illegal activity.
• Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms.
• Analyse and improve our products, marketing, and the Site.

We do not sell your personal information for monetary consideration. We share it only with these categories of recipients, only for the purposes described:

• Service providers — companies that help us run the business, including Shopify (ecommerce platform and payments), Klaviyo (email/SMS), [VERIFY: any other email or SMS provider], Google Analytics (analytics), Meta Pixel (advertising attribution), and our shipping carriers (USPS, UPS).
• Payment processors — Shopify Payments, Apple Pay, Google Pay, Shop Pay, PayPal, and any other processor we may add. Each has its own privacy policy.
• Fulfilment partners — packing and shipping providers.
• Professional advisers — lawyers, accountants, auditors, on a confidential basis.
• Legal authorities — when required by law, subpoena, court order, or to protect rights, safety, or property.
• Business transfers — if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction.

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

• Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you.
• Correct — ask us to correct inaccurate information.
• Delete — ask us to delete your information (some legal exceptions apply, e.g. tax records).
• Portability — receive your information in a portable format.
• Opt out of targeted advertising and "sale" or "sharing" — see the link below.
• Opt out of profiling in furtherance of automated decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects.
• Limit use of sensitive personal information (CA only).
• Appeal — appeal a denial of any right above.
• Non-discrimination — we will not discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

To exercise any of these rights, email contact@anaerobic-coffees.com with the subject line "Privacy Request." We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within the period required by your state's law (typically 45 days, with one 45-day extension when reasonably necessary).

Authorised agents may submit a request on your behalf with proof of authorisation.

Specific state-law notices. [VERIFY with counsel: Anaerobic LLC's data-volume thresholds may bring it into or out of scope of certain state privacy laws. The list below assumes coverage of the major US state privacy laws as of the last-updated date.]

• California (CCPA/CPRA): California residents have the rights above plus the right to know what personal information we collect, sell, share, and disclose. We do not knowingly sell personal information of minors under 16.
• Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah, Oregon, Montana, Texas, Florida, New Jersey, Tennessee, [VERIFY current list]: residents have substantially similar rights under their respective state laws.

To opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for cross-context behavioural advertising, email us with subject "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information," or use any opt-out mechanism (e.g. Global Privacy Control browser signal) we recognise.

The Site is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, please email us at contact@anaerobic-coffees.com and we will delete it.

If you opt in to email or SMS marketing, you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email or by replying STOP to any text. Standard message and data rates may apply for SMS. We do not sell or rent marketing lists.

We and our service providers use cookies and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, analyse traffic, and measure marketing performance. For the full list and how to manage them, see our Cookie Policy.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure; if we detect a security incident affecting your information we will notify you in line with applicable law.

We keep personal information for as long as needed to provide the Site and our products, comply with legal obligations (such as tax record-keeping), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When we no longer need information we delete or anonymise it.

The Site is intended for users in the United States. We do not currently market to or ship outside the US. If you access the Site from outside the US, you do so at your own initiative and your information will be processed in the US.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the latest version. Material changes will be communicated via the Site or by email. Continued use of the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
